I just mentioned this on someone else's blog, but the block feature should generally be regarded as a feature only used by the softest and most fragile people known to mankind. That is unless, of course, someone is genuinely harassing you constantly and making your site experience unenjoyable. I've never blocked anyone, never will.
There's at least 5-6 people that have blocked me just for reacting to posts/reviews, zero interaction with them beyond that. I only ever wonder about this when the topic is brought up, but - how do these people function in day-to-day life and move throughout society if they're THAT up-in-arms over a smiley face? I'll never know, nor do I want to.
I don’t like the idea of “blocking”. If you're blocked, you never interact with that person. And there’s no time limit. IT’S FOREVER, THAT’S BULLSHIT. Most importantly if it’s someone you like and… look up to that block you… that's sad.
But you're right, blocking is used by pussys. Why not tell them you're sorry? Unless they are people I’m dealing with and if I talk to them, I’m banned from the BBS again.
BTW, when I see some gross fetish art on my homepage on Mr. Blue Sky, I insult them and they block me, so I’ll never see that shit again. SO IT’S A WIN WIN.

Well you already know the one user I blocked so far, I think it's acceptable given the number of genuine article psychos on the internet nowadays. Some people just aren't worth your time, you're never going to get through to them.
But it is a last resort, like I say.

Yeah, I had one user block me when I've never talked to them before - they're a fairly popular artist, they make some good stuff. Kind of a shame, but fuck 'em. There's no shortage of talented artists on NG who aren't such complete pussies.
